My product development focus is now moving towards Thread based wireless networks. Unless you've been living under a rock these past few months, you would have heard about a new home automation protocol standard called Matter that was announced. I won't go into details, but I believe it is a game changer. Matter will enable companies such as Gemcore to rapidly develop products without having to create an entire ecosystem. These new products will be able to be commissioned to communicate on an IP based network and managed using standardized controller framework. Matter is the application layer and Thread provides the mesh networking functionality.
I've been busy and have had no time to maintain a website, but that is about to change very soon :)
First let me say I'm sorrry,it has been a while since the last post, but things have not been standing entirely still at Gemcore. Four new PCBs have been produced and are expected to be available for purchase soon. If you have ever wanted an easy way to experiment with the new Bluetooth Low-Energy wireless standard (BLE) otherwise known as BT 4.0 then you will want to see our new BLE Sensor board. We are also launching a new NXP/Jennic IP Gateway board that will be of interest to 6LowPAN developers. When everything has been tested we will make an announcement on this blog.
We are back from Spring Break at Zihuatanejo - all energized and ready to crank out some new board designs. The new 'Arfduino' board design, which is a Arduino like clone based on Atmel's ATmega128RFA1 RF chip is progressing nicely and should be ready for a prototype run in a few weeks.
The pace of development is frantic at Gemcore and with so many things on the go, time just seems to fly by. The second and final release of our NXP/Jennic Breakmod prototyping board has been delayed in order to get a few more prototype boards ready for a full PCB panel run. Now with spring break upon us we will be shut down for a bit to have some much needed rest, relaxation and Mexican beer!
Welcome to the store for Gemcore Communications Inc. As you can see, we're just getting started. Please be patient and in the meantime have a look at our products and services pages for examples of what we will be offering or our useful resources page for links to things and places that we like. Fill in our Contact form to be added to our mailing list and receive announcements of website updates and product availability.
